I am a photographer and geologist based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. As a photographer, I focus on the Earth and the human and natural landscapes around me. I am fascinated by textures, patterns and details, exploring the connection between large and small, and how much they can look alike. My work is heavily influenced by my background in Earth Sciences and microscopy, and by the analogue black and white photography I grew up with.

I studied geology at Utrecht University (MSc 2007, PhD 2013) and Conceptual Photography at Fotoacademie Amsterdam, graduating in 2025.
